Guitar tuition at Haydock Music School happens every evening during the week due to the popularity of the instrument. At our guitar lessons you can learn Electric guitar, Classical guitar, Acoustic guitar and Bass guitar with finger-picking style or chords as well as jazz or folk. Our guitar tutors have everything pretty well covered!
Young beginners will be encouraged to start by note reading although tab reading is also taught during our guitar lessons. We use the structure of exams to help the students see their progress as they learn to play the guitar and follow the Trinity Rock and Pop, Rockschool, ABRSM and RGT syllabuses as appropriate. However, unlike school, exams are not compulsory and our experienced guitar tutors will encourage their guitar students in whatever direction they wish to go! Guitar lessons can be 1:1 for 30 minutes or 1:2 for 45 minutes.

Yes, although we are happy to loan a guitar for the first lesson if required.

We teach all styles of guitar, however certain types of guitar suit complete beginners, we are happy to discuss this option ahead of booking in for lessons.

We only offer 1-1 lessons although we can on special request do 2-1.

You don't need to read music, although we would always recommended you do, but we can easily teach by tablature or ear if this is the preferred method.
