Piano is taught in 1 to 1 lessons with one of our experienced piano tutors lasting 30 minutes. Young beginners learning to play the piano will generally be taught classical piano techniques and if desired be entered into graded exams with one of the reputable exam boards.

Older starters learning piano can stipulate the route they wish to follow during their piano lessons, whether it be to take exams or to be able to play songs on the piano in a more laid-back style. We can support development at all levels of ability whilst enjoying the piano lessons at the same time.

  • Yes, people often make the mistake of buying a keyboard that has 61 notes over 88. The minimum requirement for learning piano is 88 notes with pedals and ideally a touch responsive weighted keyboard.

  • We can teach any style on the piano but as a beginner it would always be recommended to get the basics covered first.

  • This is very common and it might take a bit of unravelling to correct the bad habits.

  • This is something we can teach as we go along, and certainly not a prerequisite, but like learning any new language it will take time and practice.

  • This will depend on so many other things in your life, but as a child 15 mins + a day, and an adult 30 mins a day. Its the practice between lessons that makes the difference.
